GrowQuest updates — April 26 – May 1, 2026
The boss page is now a full live combat scene, every quest powers a real skill tree, and brand-new kids start their journey with their very first Growy.
A big week for everything around the weekly boss. The fight is no longer a static banner — it's a real combat scene with animated attacks, every Growy in your child's roster, and a backup swap when the active one is exhausted. Quests now feed a skill tree, and brand-new kids get their starter Growy on day one.
✨ New
- Live combat scene on the boss page. The boss page is now a full Pokémon-style combat scene: animated boss, your child's active Growy in the foreground, projectile animations between them, an in-scene battle command bar, and a unique arena background for each of the 11 bosses. A roster status panel under the scene shows every Growy in the team and lets you swap to a backup when the active one gets tired.
- Quests now power a real skill tree. Every approved quest now feeds a Power category (Strength, Wisdom, Heart, and so on) into your child's skill tree. Both parents and kids have a new view to see how each Power is growing, and combat moves unlock as those Powers level up.
- Starter Growy in onboarding. Every new kid now picks and names their very first Growy as part of onboarding — with a name-moderation filter so things stay kid-friendly. New kids land on their dashboard ready to fight, hatch and grow.
- Power-category filter on the kid quest list. Kids can now filter their quest list by Power category, with colored dots and per-category counts in the sidebar. Replaces the old difficulty filter — Power-driven exploration matches the new skill tree better.
- Combat explained in the Guide. A new section in the Guide walks parents and kids through how the combat system works, including the Titan weakness mechanic — find the right Power to break a Titan boss.
🔧 Improved
- Growies fight as a team. Growies now have their own health and can become exhausted during combat; when the active one is out, you swap to a backup. The boss attacks back automatically every night, and the result is logged in both parent and kid views so nobody is surprised in the morning.
- Sharper, cuter art everywhere. Full regeneration of every trainer, Growy and boss at higher resolutions for crisp phone screens. Sporini, Peblou and Drakovar got a cuter pass; Drakovar and Magmolith look more heroic; trainer head icons are now true close-up portraits instead of shrunken full-body sprites.
- Reviews and Boss Quest now in the top parent menu. Two of the most-clicked sections moved out of the "More" dropdown and onto the main parent header, so you can reach pending reviews and the boss in one click.
- Child detail page got a hero treatment. The top of each child's detail page now mirrors their dashboard hero — character portrait paired with their active Growy, with their level chip cleanly inline next to their name. Leaderboard rows on the parent dashboard now link straight to that page.
- Real contact form for parents. The Contact link in the parent menu now opens a proper contact form (rather than launching your mail client with a blank email).
- Growy rename safety. The name-moderation filter now applies when you rename a Growy (not just when creating one), and if a name gets rejected the reason now appears inline in the dialog rather than as a fleeting notification.
- French screens and notifications. A batch of French translation cleanups: humanized error notifications (no more raw English "Failed to…" messages), missing Guide translations filled in, and quest descriptions now show their French version when only the French version is set.
🌱 Under the hood
- Onboarding lands cleanly. New kids now arrive on their dashboard right after creating their starter Growy, instead of bouncing back to the onboarding flow.
